Farewell Mr. Flaherty

Farewell to Jim Flaherty

I made the trip to Toronto this week to pay my respects to our friend Mr. Jim Flaherty. That, I thought, was the least I could do on behalf of our people in the North.

He has helped so many over his time as our Finance Minister, in particular just a couple years ago when the funding was announced in the federal budget for our Tuk to Inuvik all weather highway.

There were so many people here for the service and it was so well worth the time to be a part of this. Prime Minister Stephen Harper made a very moving speech as did Jim’s wife and a couple of his boys. Rest in Peace Jim. Job well done my friend.
